As a Business & Human Rights Specialist, you will contribute to projects that ensure the promotion of human rights in the private sector, creating a positive impact on both businesses and communities.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business & Human Rights Specialist, you will:
Promote Responsible Business Practices: Work with companies to integrate human rights into their business models and operations.
Develop Policy Recommendations: Assist in formulating policies and guidelines that protect human rights in corporate environments.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with the private sector, government agencies, NGOs, and international organizations to advance business and human rights initiatives.
Research & Analysis: Conduct research on human rights issues related to business activities and supply chains, providing insights and recommendations.
Training & Advocacy: Organize training sessions and awareness campaigns on business ethics, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and human rights compliance.
Reporting: Prepare reports and documentation on the progress of human rightsrelated projects and initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: A Bachelor’s degree in human rights, law, international relations, business, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree would be advantageous.
Experience: Prior experience in human rights, corporate social responsibility (CSR), sustainable development, or business ethics is highly desirable. Experience with NGOs, international organizations, or the private sector is an asset.
Skills:
Strong understanding of human rights principles and how they relate to business practices.
Excellent research and analytical skills.
Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including businesses, government agencies, and civil society organizations.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
